How do you think email has affected communication? Do you hate it? Love it? Explain your response.
I have always had the passion for letter writing. I was very keen on writing and exchanging letters with my best friend when I was a kid and as I grow up I wanted to have more pen pals but I was never able to do it. The idea of writing on pen and paper has a very relaxing bit to it, a bit of aesthetic too. Stamps and envelopes are also becoming a thing of the past and the only way to get a letter now is for the bill (although some do it electronically as well now)
Email is inevitable. With the development of technology, this is the new professional way of communicating with someone now. At first, it was sad to see the nature of writing on pen and paper fade but I grew to like writing emails now as it is more seen as professional.
Being able to get the mail and replying in a snap is a good facet of emails and more with how communication is effectively transmitted. Sending out a bunch of e-mails at work, I think writing emails is very important for a businessman. With new things popping up to improve communication, I just hope that sending emails can stay as the most professional approach.
- Me: A Writer
I was a Peace Corps Volunteer a few years ago and took that opportunity to hand write letters home. It was very cathartic. Unfortunately my family didn't feel the same. Whenever I would call home they would tell me how excited they were to receive my letter but when pressed why they didn't respond, they just saw it as old fashion and didn't have time.
