Me: A Writer

I never saw myself as a writer, not yet at least. I have created and wrote a few blogs. I wrote for a newspaper during my internship. And now, I'm writing e-mails. I have not really wrote for a few bad years and at this moment, I really want to go back to writing. Writing has always been in my way of life. I enjoyed writing when I was a kid. Even more so when I became a teenager. I wrote sappy stories and kept a diary. All these scenes that I couldn't get out of my head and the moment I write them it's like they came to life. All these emotions that I thought that if I wouldn't be able to write it down, I would go crazy. When I began to not have much time, I resorted to short prose and poems. Those kept me sane for a couple of good weeks. I believe that I cannot get writing out of my system even if I wanted to. At first, I wanted to be a novelist and every time I read a good book I would think to myself that I want to be able to write like that too. Then, I began writin...

Technology Integration - Transforming Classroom

This is for a writing prompt in the course: Teach English Now! Technnology Enriched Teaching by Arizona State University through Coursera . In this module, you learned about the SAMR (Substitution, Augmentation, Modification and Redefinition) model. Remember that it is a model designed to examine how integrating technology changes a learning task, and hopefully improves the learning experience. Now, we'd like for you to consider the different stages of the SAMR model in relation to the technology tool that you've decided to use and HOW you've decided to use it. Which stage would your technology tool fall into with the way you've decided to use it? Please be sure to give a brief description of how you plan to use it for your peer reviewer. Look at the other stages of the SAMR and describe another way you could use the technology tool in a different stage. Link to the technology that I'd be using - Kahoot! 1. Technology Evaluation - Engaging Students

This is for a writing prompt in the course: Teach English Now! Technnology Enriched Teaching by Arizona State University through Coursera . In the last module, you thought about how you might use a specific technology tool in one of your lessons. Now, think about how you can engage students (digital natives and non-natives) in the classroom. Link to the technology that I'd be using - Kahoot! Please give a brief description of how you would use the technology tool that you selected in one of your lessons. What are some challenges that your students might have in working with this tool? How would you deal with multi-levels (a combination of digital natives and non-natives) using this tool in the same class? 1 . I would be using Kahoot! for my Warm-Up Activity. As I have said in my previous entry, this tool can bring in a friendly competition for the whole class - at the same time it can help develop retention of information for students (through going through the same questions...

Technology Evaluation - Kahoot!

This is for a writing prompt in the course: Teach English Now! Technnology Enriched Teaching by Arizona State University through Coursera . The goal of this assignment is for you to become familiar with evaluating technology. Remember that you should first think about your objectives and what you want your learners to achieve. What is the vocabulary you want them to know? What are the grammatical items you want them to know? What reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills do you want them to acquire? You’ve got to know that FIRST. Then, and only after you have made those decisions, do you find technology to support what you teach and the assignments/lesson plans you have. Keeping this in mind, think about a specific objective for your students related to reading, writing, grammar, speaking, listening, or pronunciation. After you have decided on an objective or objectives(s), look for a technology that you could possibly use in a lesson to help students achieve the objecti...
